There is quite a bit of Bible software for sale these days. Some of these programs cost $100-$450.

There is some excellent software for free, however. It's called e-Sword.

I will not bother reviewing the software here, since it is freely available at the e-Sword web site and you may investigate it there. I'll just say that it compares favorably with some of the best commercial programs.

You may download the program and its libraries for free. To download this much software, you really need a high-speed Internet connection such as cable or DSL. If you don't have such a connection yourself, a friend can probably help you, or you can get a CD for a donation of $15 or more. Even if you download it all for free, you'll probably want to send a donation to e-Sword after you see how well you like it.

A computer is just a tool, and software will not inspire you to be a faithful Christian any more than buying a $1,000 machine will make you want to exercise. But if you already study the Scriptures for church work or just for personal benefit, e-Sword is a superb tool to enhance your work.
